Who runs the beta

The Rue beta is run by Mackenzie Davis, an individual operating it on behalf of the Rue & Raven brand. Rue & Raven is a developing brand, not an incorporated company. Mackenzie Davis is responsible for the information collected here.

What we collect

Your first name, email address, optional general location (city, state, or country — never a street address), your answers to the eligibility questions (age 18+, U.S. residency, and having a living plant), and your answers about gardening, devices, and availability. The first beta is open only to people living in the United States.

How we use it

Only to review applications, select beta testers, and contact you about the Rue beta. We don't sell it or use it for advertising.

When you apply, we send you one email confirming we received your application, and Mackenzie Davis gets a short alert with your first name, email address, and the time you applied. These emails are delivered through our hosting provider's email service (Lovable), which processes your name and email address only to deliver them.

Who can see it

Only Mackenzie Davis, who runs the beta, through a private, sign-in-protected dashboard. Applications can't be viewed from the public website.

Beta updates signups

If you join the beta updates list, we keep your first name and email address only to send you news about the Rue beta and opportunities to participate.

Recruitment data vs. the Rue app

This notice covers only information you share on this recruitment website. Anything you share inside the Rue gardening app during the beta is handled separately under the app's own privacy terms.

Where it's stored

Applications and beta updates signups are stored in our website's hosted database (Lovable Cloud). They're kept as separate lists, so removing one doesn't automatically remove the other — just tell us if you'd like both removed.

How long we keep it

• Applicants who are declined or not selected: deleted within 30 days after final selection decisions.
• Waitlisted applicants: deleted within 30 days after the waitlist closes.
• Selected beta testers: application data deleted within 60 days after the beta test ends.
• Beta updates signups: deleted within 30 days after beta recruitment closes.
• Verified deletion requests: completed within 14 days of verification.

We review records weekly and delete them by hand once they reach these deadlines. Deleted information may remain in our hosting provider's routine backups for a limited time until those backups expire.
